Juan S. Cruz is currently a PhD student at the Technical University of Munich working under the supervision of Prof. Björn Garbrecht on topics related to quantum field theory over non-homogeneous backgrounds. He has employed the path integral formulation together with spectral and computational methods to estimate the possible effects coming from background gradients, in the context of vacuum decay and instantons in QCD. He will join CP3-Origins later this year as a postdoc to work together with Prof. Martin S. Sloth in topics related to the Hubble parameter tension and cosmological phase transitions.
Héloïse Delaporte started as PhD sutdent in Astrid Eichhorn ’s group at CP3-Origins on October 15th. She obtained a master degree in theoretical physics at ETH Zurich in 2020 where she worked on two integrable deformations of 2-dimensional sigma models on low-dimensional symmetric background spaces. More precisely, Héloïse derived an algebraic relation between two different integrable deformations on such symmetric spaces. As for her PhD, she will work on regular black holes, both on the possible action they originate from and their image features.
