University of Jyväskylä (JY)

Associated Partner of UH

The physics department at the University of Jyväskylä has a sizable high energy physics-research group with international experts in the field of particle theory, beyond SM phenomenology, cosmology and astroparticle physics.

Key Persons

  • Dr K. Tuominen

Key Competences/Facilities

We have long traditions in beyond SM phenomenology, cosmology and astroparticle physics. On these topics, and also on lattice field theory, we have several active collaborations with the groups in Helsinki University. These activities benefit from the infrastructure of the Helsinki Institute of Physics; one of the current theory projects there, Laws of nature and condensed particle matter phenomenology @ LHC is led by Dr K. Tuominen.

Previous Training Programs and Research

The department of Physics at the University of Jyväskylä provides excellent training programs in theoretical particle physics both on undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching staff consists of the experts in the fields listed above and this results in successful recruitment of talented students. We have common researcher training, and scientific collaboration, with the Physics department at the University of Helsinki.
