When: Monday November 1 to Friday November 5, 2010.
This is the third in a series of schools with the purpose is of endowing the new generation of mathematicians and physicists with a common language. We wish to bring together scientists working at the frontier between Geometry and Theoretical Physics to be able to bridge the gap between mathematics and theoretical physics while stimulating further progress.
Subjects that will be discussed include: the standard model, supersymmetry, technicolor, monopoles, instantons, dark matter, lattice field theory, and phase diagram of strongly interacting theories.
Two other events are held in connection with the winter school:
The conference will take place at the main campus of the Southern Denmark University in Odense, Denmark. All talks except for the public lecture by Prof. ‘t Hooft are held in BMB’s seminar room. You can also download a PDF map of the university.
There are direct trains from the Copenhagen Airport to Odense Train Station. You can also stop first at the train station in Copenhagen and then take the first train to Odense. With the fast train the ride is about 80 minutes. From the railway station you can either take a taxi (about 100 DKK or 15 €) or take bus number 40, 41 or 42 labeled Universitetet that drives directly to the university.
Accommodation is the participants’ own responsibility. We have booked rooms in some hotels. See the accommodation page for a list of hotels and for instructions.
