How do non-equilibrium non-abelian plasmas thermalize? Depending on the initial conditions, the dynamics of the non-equilibrium system is dictated by elastic scattering, inelastic scattering or — in the case of some anisotropic initial conditions — plasma instabilities. I will describe these processes in physically transparent way in the weak coupling limit with an emphasis on screening and LPM effect, and present an application to early stages of heavy ion collisions.
