Rajeev Kumar Jain joins CP3-Origins October 1, 2012.
Before starting at CP3 Jain was a Post Doc (of Prof. Ruth Durrer) in the Department of Theoretical Physics at the University of Geneva. He completed his PhD in cosmology under the supervision of Dr. L. Sriramkumar at the Harish-Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad, India in September 2009.
The majority of Jain’s research work lies in the field of Inflationary cosmology, Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB), Primordial Magnetic Fields (PMF) and Dark Energy (DE). His thesis work was aimed at studying issues related to the origin and evolution of cosmological perturbations during inflation and reheating, and the resulting signatures on the CMB.
With Prof. Ruth Durrer, Jain have been working on various scenarios for the generation of PMF during inflation and their further evolution during structure formation. Recently, he has also been interested in understanding the nature of DE by means of linear and non-linear probes of large scale structure growth.
