Effective CP-violation in the Standard Model

The observed asymmetry between matter and antimatter is expected to originate from physics at or beyond the electroweak scale in the very early Universe. Standard lore tells us, that the CP-violation present in the Standard Model is insufficient to account for the magnitude of the asymmetry. We compute of the effective CP-violation arising from integrating out the fermions at finite temperature, to leading order in a gradient expansion. We confirm standard lore at electroweak temperatures, but not at temperatures around 1 GeV.
