I will present some of the recent advances on many-core scientific computing in the petaflop era. Several architectures are now available and the paradigm of heterogeneous computing has become a common feature for the most advanced clusters. I will discuss algorithms and programming techniques typical of these architectures focusing on my experience on GPUs and big custom clusters.
