Ari Hietanen joins CP3-Origins as assistant professor starting August 1, 2011.
Hietanen received his Ph.D. in 2008 from the University of Helsinki. Since then he has been working as post doctoral researcher in prestigious institutions both in Europe and the US, such as Florida International University and Swansea University.
Hietanen published 11 research articles in international refereed journals and monographs, two of which are well-known top-cited works, 5 research papers as international conference proceedings, for a total of about 300 citations. He is best known for his influential works on beyond standard model physics using numerical simulations on supercomputers. His two papers on Minimal Walking Technicolor are top-cited papers well-known in the scientific community. He is an expert in Lattice Gauge Theories, scientific computing and high-performance computational platforms.
His profile matches perfectly the interests of the CP3-Origins Centre, and he will, without doubt, greatly strengthen the high-energy physics group at SDU.
