Esben Mølgaard will give a talk entitled Taking String Theory to the Standard Model and Beyond. The talk will start with a short recap of string theory, compact dimensions and D-branes. From there it will explore the implications of magnetized or intersecting branes and how these can be used to construct the Standard Model in a string theoretical framework. At last it will explore how this model goes beyond the Standard Model, and how it can be expanded to go even further.
