Starting March 1, Christian Walther Andersen started as a PhD student at CP3-Origins under the supervision of John Bulava.

Christian got his master’s degree in physics from the University of Southern Denmark in 2016. His thesis, which was supervised by Michele Della Morte, focused on scattering processes in the O(3) non-linear sigma model and the techniques used to extract scattering phase shifts from Euclidean correlation functions.

During his PhD he will be working with John Bulava on scattering processes in lattice QCD. The work will revolve around the goal of computing scattering observables in resonant meson-baryon scattering using lattice QCD ensembles from Monte Carlo simulations.
