String theory suggests that inflation may occur in a complicated, multifield landscape. Following arXiv:1307.3559 , we use random matrix statistics to characterize the inflationary potential. We find that the resulting potentials conflict with observational data in much of the parameter space, in particular when the number of fields is too large.
