One-loop effective for f(R) gravity with applications to Cosmology

After a short introduction on the recent experimental data, modified gravity theories are introduced, and inflation within this framework is outlined. In order to discuss quantum corrections, one-loop path integral quantization, evaluation of Gaussian functional integral   by means of functional determinants are summarized. Regularization and renormalization at one-loop are presented. The general formalism is applied to two modified models, Starobinsky model and quadratic scale invariant model, and the role of the corresponding one-loop corrections are investigated.
