Thermodynamics of holographic models for QCD in the Veneziano limit

Abstract: We have studied the thermodynamics of a class of holographic bottom-up models for QCD in the limit where both Nc and Nf go to infinity such that their ratio is finite. We have solved the phase diagram of the model in the T, μ -plane, and find a tentative 1st order deconfining transition when moving from small to large T, μ. More importantly, we find a separate chiral symmetry restoring transition at just slightly higher values of T, μ, which is of the second order at low-μ, and becomes first order when μ is larger than a critical value.
